I am so excited to share that Jamba Juice is coming to the Philippines! Max’s Group, the same people that brought us Krispy Kreme, has gotten a franchise of the popular US smoothie joint and has agreed to build 40 Philippine stores over the next ten years.

Jamba Juice will serve smoothies made from real fruit juice and fruit juice concentrate with a choice of sherbet, frozen yogurt, sorbet, plain yogurt, low-calorie dairy base, chocolate base, or soy milk to go with the smoothies that may likewise come with a supplemental "boost."

They will also serve freshly-squeezed orange juice, carrot juice, wheatgrass juice, and steel-cut oatmeal. Yes, they will pretty much support the growing dynamic lifestyle of Filipinos.

Jamba Juice Philippines will open their first branch at Bonifacio Global City Centrale on 11-11-11. In the meantime, like them up on Facebook and follow them on Twitter.

I’ve spent almost two weeks studying for so many exams, and by Friday, I wanted to just escape Manila and anything that reminded me of calculus. When I was offered a weekend in Subic, I was a little hesitant because I didn’t want to spend three consecutive weekends on the road.  Yet with all that pressure, I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to spend a weekend away from my handouts. And so off to Subic we went! Read more…

Meralco invited me and a number of bloggers to be familiarized creatively with their electronic innovations through the Bright Light Quiz Night, in which our team ranked second. Now I can’t wait to tell you how the country’s leading electricity provider is stepping it up to reach and connect with us in this digital age! Read more…

1. Batanes – With only two airlines serving this mystical spot, no wonder fares are high relative to other destinations in the country. But reading around blogs written about Batanes, I’m sure its natural wonders and the Ivatan people will enchant visitors.

2. Calaguas – Some blogs proclaim this beach in Camarines Norte as being better than the Caramoan Peninsula of Camarines Sur. Calaguas isn’t too far a trip from Metro Manila, so I want to explore its clear waters and fine sand on a shoestring budget.

3. Amanpulo – Its exclusivity shrouds much of what’s actually inside this luxurious paradise. But with its celebrity clientele, I’m pretty sure a weekend in Amanpulo is all about pampering in style and serenity.

4. Zamboanga – I want to see Zamboanga and get a taste of its Malay-inspired culture. Even with the dangers that was broadcasted in the news, I believe Zamboanga is relatively peaceful and is a good travel destination.

5. Mount Apo -  While I do not have a penchant for climbing, I would be really fulfilled if I reach the peak of Mount Apo, the Mount Everest of the Philippines. It would require a lot of training and stamina, though.

Rapture or no rapture on October 21, I will visit these places #BeforeTheWorldEnds!

After a day of walking and exploring two cultures of Singapore—Indian at Little India and Malay at Kampong Glam—followed by a revisit of Sentosa Island and Resorts World Sentosa, it seemed like the energy in me wasn’t depleted yet. I was in Singapore to cover the high octane action of the Formula 1 SingTel Singapore Grand Prix; the excitement just kept on energizing me. Saturday, September 24, was the night of the qualifying. I flew in last September 23 to Singapore via Singapore Airlines to cover the 2011 Formula 1 SingTel Singapore Grand Prix. Of course, the action is not limited inside the racetrack as the entire Singapore was revved up for Grand Prix Season Singapore 2011. And lucky for me, I was there to experience all the action for three full days! Read more…

I didn’t know that there was a Chicken Charlie in Malate, Manila until I accidentally discovered it aboard a jeepney en route to Sta. Ana, Manila where I was to take a connecting jeepney to our house in Makati. Anyway, I wanted to try Chicken Charlie, but I really thought they only had a branch in Banawe, Quezon City. And so right on the same week, I went back to Adriatico to finally get a taste of their double-fried chicken wings. Read more…
